Consistent colors and color management have been and are still in many areas a certain mystery for professionals and even more for consumers. For a long time receiving color consistent scans has been a field dedicated to professional color consultants and operators only.
The new SilverFast version helps professionals and enables consumers to benefit from consistent colors and to neglect the sophisticated process behind it. From SilverFast version 6.5.0r6 on users from all experience levels can achieve color consistent scans by calibrating the scanner first.

Due to the genuine combination of the automatic frame detection and the integrated barcode technology imprinted on LaserSoft Imagings IT8-Targets the complete calibration process runs fully automatic. Not even a Prescan is required. Just place the original LaserSoft Imaging IT8-Target on the scanner and simply press the IT8 Calibration start icon. The ICC profile gets calculated for the scanner taking the scan of the target and so called reference data - which is located on the delivered CD and available for downloading - into account.

The high-quality IT8 targets - transmissive as well as reflective - are manufactured in LaserSoft Imagings own production, where small batches and accuracy are ensuring very high precision.

Tip: ICC Printer Calibration
You would like to print your scanned images as original and as predictable as possible ?
With SilverFast IT8 you can't calibrate just your scanner, but your printer. You won't need any additional hardware for that, your scanner will be used as the measurement device.
