SilverFast taps the full potential of Epson’s high-quality devices. After Epson recognized that, many scanners were delivered bundled with SilverFast.
Many flatbed scanners are not only proper for digitizing documents and photos, but are also suitable for scanning slides, negatives and filmstrips due to their transparency units.
The Stylus Photo RX620 from Epson is an older scanner model for which the manufacturer no longer updates the device drivers. However, the Stylus Photo RX620 scanner is still supported by our scanner software SilverFast 6.6, which has proven itself in use over many years.

One of the most influential pieces of technology to my career is SilverFast. It changed the way I work and using it started me on the journey I have gone on with post processing my images. What SilverFast does to a file is equivalent to putting on sunglasses on a very bright day. It helps you see the image most clearly.
SilverFast is the scanner software that actually delivers perfect scans right from the start as others like VueScan failed miserably in my test with them regarding accuracy in color representation.
With the optionally available Archive Suite (a combination of SilverFast Ai Studio and SilverFast HDR Studio) it is also possible to make RAW scans, in order to do the processing later in the HDR software. With the option to scan films in the HDRi format you have the possibility, to use the information of the infrared channel in an optimal way in the postprocessing. For the professional use it is recommended by all means to use the Archive Suite.
