... The Photo version of the scanner ships with LaserSoft Imaging's SilverFast Ai6 scanning software. It may well be the Cadillac of scanning software. Ai6 was developed by some of the same engineers who consulted on the scanning systems for Hell Graphic Systems' high-end drum scanners. Not an image-manipulation tool, Ai6 is a true scanning application. The software automatically adjusts to various image lighting scenarios, in much the same way as professional photo-processing software performs scene balance for photo printing.
