The new Plustek OpticFilm 9000i is designed for photographers and film enthusiasts who want to digitize 35mm slides and negatives with excellent detail and accurate color reproduction. The dedicated film scanner offers an optical resolution of up to 7200 dpi according to the manufacturer, a color depth of 48 bit, and includes holders for mounted slides and 35mm film strips. A newly developed five-element aspherical lens improves sharpness and edge-to-edge clarity, helping the scanner capture even fine image structures with precision. Enhanced internal stability also provides a reliable basis for infrared-based dust and scratch removal.
Combined with SilverFast 9, the OpticFilm 9000i becomes a powerful solution for professional film digitization. SilverFast’s iSRD automatically detects and removes dust and scratches using the scanner’s infrared channel, while Multi-Exposure increases the effective dynamic range and reveals more detail in highlights and shadows. Features such as NegaFix, the 16-bit Histogram, HDRiRAW, and Auto IT8 Calibration provide additional control over color, tonal values, and archival image quality.
