Color spaces
The limits for the current system are set by the different color spaces of the monitor and the printer. Modern monitor profiles are able to reproduce a very large color space, e.g. (almost) the complete “eci RGB v2” color space. The printer’s much smaller color space almost gets lost in this huge color space.
SilverFasts printer-profiling target
SilverFast’s printer-profiling target consists of 1026 fields with 1007 tonal values. The ICC profile is generated from these tonal values which describe the entire color space that the specific printer can reproduce. SilverFast’s Printer Calibration ensures that all colors that the printer is able to reproduce are being utilized.
