One of the most significant features of a very good film scanner is the focus control. The focus control helps to get to sharp and crisp images which is a must for professional images. SilverFast has exceptional and easy to use focus control. First there is an auto focus which has the focus point in the center of the scan frame, second there is the possibility to manually define a focus point anywhere on the prescan and third there is the focus control preview dialog. The focus control preview dialog offers the following features:

1. Auto-Focus (find focus point automatically at center of image)
2. Auto-Focus at an arbitrary point ( finds the focus position at a set point automatically)
3. Change Focus Position (move the focus to any focus position - up or down)
