BUGFIX:
All with IT8 calibration: Under Windows7 with an Aero-Theme active, the IT8 calibration could hang on some machines, already when opening the IT8 dialog. This is fixed now.

HDR and DC versions: HDR and DC versions now contain a special auto sharpness table such that HDR images scanned with Epson scanners will be processed like in the Epson-Ai version.

all Canon SDK: Sometimes after scanning some transparencies a colorcast started to show ( sometimes strong, sometimes weak ).
This was especially visible on the Canon 8800F, but also on other Canon Scanners. This instability has been fixed by changing the way we calibrate.

CMS: Long file names of ICC profiles were listed truncated in the Option dialog's CMS panel. Now the full file name (without path) is used.
General: Added a Service Button to the Universal Launcher so the User can easily enter the Service Mode that allows to reset the serial number, reset the Preferences or to copy the SilverFast logfile to the desktop for sending it to support.
BUGFIX:
Microtek ScanMaker 9800 XL: Scans of high Multi-Sampling factors and large heights (in pixels) were scanned distorted.
Corrected this by reading the true image height from the scanner in an alternative manner.
Microtek ArtixScan M1 / F1: Further measures taken to avoid even very thin lines based image problem. These may occur if the scanners comes into start-stop mode when scanning very large images.
Microtek ArtixScan M1/F1: ordinary scan performed after a Multi-Exposure scan resulted in overexposed image - fixed

IMPROVEMENT:
Importing rotated images to Photoshop: Due to an error, scanning images with rotation (90/270 degree or fine rotation) directly to Photoshop via PS's import interface), scanning would take much longer (10x) than necessary - fixed.
BUGFIX:
VLT: corrected thumbnail images on VLT for images that have been scanned with arbitrary rotation.
VLT: corrected the thumbnail generation in VLT of HDR images with known gamma included.
iSRD: Fixed bug that lead to wrong preview proportions when entering & leaving iSRD preview from zoomed view of preview window.
HiRePP: Corrected HiRePP for images that have been created using both, 90 or 270 degrees and fine rotation.
Multi-Exposure under Photoshop CS3: Under certain circumstances, multi-exposure scanning into Photoshop CS3 led to crashes - fixed.
Batch scanning save options: In the "Save" dialogue "PDF" could not be chosen, and the options for EPS/DCS/JPG2000 were mixed up - fixed.
Leopard: Corrected dialogue for saving batch scans.
General: Using any post-processing filter (e.g. i/SRD, AACO) in combination with a 90 or 270 degrees rotations or arbitrary rotation (n.b. thus also with the automatic frame finding tool) led to corrected final images - fixed.
SilverFast AFL (Reflecta, PIE, Kodak): Multi-Exposure took much too long and resulting scans were overexposed - corrected.
iSRD: corrected not enough, if enlargement of image was not equal to 100% - internal workflow enhanced.
General: Behaviour of iSRD preview dialogue had been changed to make best use of given screen size.
General: iSRD and SRD can be used in combination. Activating SRD will automatically add a new corrective mask layer. It is assumed the user wants to further improve on the image already corrected by iSRD.
BUGFIX:
General: SilverFast cut the last character from each string part (i.e. non-index part) of the output name for batch and JobManager - fixed.
General: SilverFast could corrupt the output name dialogue for batch scanning and JobManager, when the output name consisted of only one part - fixed.
Canon F8400, Canon F9950: SilverFast does now work with the latest drivers from Canon for the CanoScan 8400F and 9950F.
General: When a user tried to sort frames while only having one frame open, SilverFast crashed - fixed.
Auto-Frame Finding: On the "Auto" tab of the "Options" dialogue a new feature can be found to adjust the inset that is applied to frames created by the "Find Frames" tool.
General: Photoshop (or other apps using the SilverFast Photoshop plug-in version, incl. the SF_Launcher) could crash after a batch scan - fixed.
Windows Vista: Resolved serialization problems for native Vista apps calling SilverFast. Slight disadvantage is that now every user on a system has to serialize - this is a Vista specific thing that cannot be influenced by SilverFast.
IT8 calibration: Added a new feature that improves the IT8 calibration. The IT8 target will be recognized automatically and performs all steps until reporting success.
Canon CanoScan 8600F: Scanner will be calibrated on the first prescan or scan now to avoid drifts in brightness on successive scans that could occur when scanning with a "cold" device.
Scan frame: Look of scan frame changed. Instead of cross-hairs for rotating half-arcs can be used now. Also active frame is blinking in order to be noticed easier.
BUGFIX:
Nikon: Fixed an issue with embedded Kodachrome profiles when using HDR scan mode of SilverFast and opening the resulting image files in Photoshop without processing the images in SilverFast HDR/DCPro before.
SE: When scanning with SE versions without default ICC or input profile, scans could on certains conditions be affected by increased color noise due to an otherwise minor bug as a side effect - fixed.
USM: There is now an alert shown for errors that might occur during the prescan in the USM dialog.
Descreening: Improved descreening speed (especially on Heidelberger LinoHellPro Scanners up to 10x faster, on others 10 to 30 percent faster).

SE: Corrected the behaviour of the new CMS-Panel for SE with respect to the internal color space popup.
General: The picture settings dialog now allows directly typing in negative parameter values.

BUGFIX:
PIE Powerslide 3650 / Braun Multimag Slidescan 4000 / Reflecta Digitdia 4000: Hardware of scanner was changed, but not reflected in SDK. Thus SilverFast was misinformed about detection of slide orientation. Work-around implemented.
NikonMAID: Improved internal handling of the NikonMAID scanner specific Kodachrome profiles (for LS-40, 50, 4000, 5000, 8000, 9000).
Multi-Exposure: Greatly improved Multi-Exposure algorithms to counter issues with alignment problems which led to "colour shadows" and similar effects.
Options: "Reset to factory" values (in > Options > General) now also delete XML prefs files.
VLT: Corrected hiding of floating Densitometer window when switching from VLT to "Basic" edit view.
CMS: Ask the user for an automatic prescan when input color management has been switched on or off.
PhotoProof: Corrected settings for expected path for the folder for the PhotoProof profiles.

standard print dialogue (not PrinTao) / normaler Druckdialog (nicht PrinTao): Using the descreening filter, it wasn't possible to print from SilverFast standard printing dialogue - fixed. (Versions with PrinTao weren't affected.)
PrinTao: With Windows versions it's now possible to rotate the thumbnail images in PrinTao by a given angle.
This is limited to Ai Studio (not SE Plus), DCVLT, DCPro (Studio), and HDR (Studio).
PrinTao: With Windows versions it's now possible to edit text with rich text features. Also, text editing now can be done directly in PrinTao (instead of opening an edit dialogue as before).
Feature is available in all Studio versions.
All with Agfa, Microtek, or Polaroid (but NOT MicrotekSDK): improved Negafix profile for "Fuji Superia Reala 100" for Agfa, Microtek, and Polaroid scanners.
Nikon: On selected Nikon scanners, it is now possible to choose Kodachrome instead of the normal Positive setting in the Pos.Neg. popup.
With the LS9000 this will enable the use of the DIGITAL ICE Professional Technology as a part of the ICE4 Technology, which is targeted to scan KODACHROME images with ICE.
Additionally it's now possible to choose a special input ICC profile in the Options dialog, that will only get used when Kodachrome is selected (this options is only shown in the Options dialog, if Kodachrome is selected).
General: New descreening feature for all Studio versions: Far less artifacts while remaining sharp edges. Special feature allowing text black on white stay excellently sharp!
General: When changing CMS options (e.g. select a different profile) the user was asked to do a new prescan to reflect the changes - this isn't really necessary, and was removed.
General: The ICC profiles are now listed with their description followed by the filename in brackets. If the description matches the filename, only the description is listed.
General: The automatic alignment in the SilverFast Multisampling feature failed in some cases at very high resolutions. This is fixed by the latest improvement to the automatic alignment.

HDR Studio / DCPro Studio: Speedup for thumbnail generation of converted raw files.
BUGFIX:
HDR Studio / DCPro Studio: There was a difference in the thumbnail for a camera raw file, if the thumbnail gets converted in SilverFast/VLT or in PrinTao by placing a not already converted camera raw file on the page (the conversion takes place, but the thumbnail looks different) - Fixed.
All TWAIN: When scanning via TWAIN directly into Word, the image will be displayed really small and doesn't match the specified size - Fixed.
DC-VLT, DCPro (Studio), HDR (Studio): JPEG image files loaded in considerably less time.
DC-VLT, DCPro (Studio), HDR (Studio): Image files are opened more quickly now when switching from VLT to standard SilverFast process view.
Ai (for scanners with corresponding focus feature): The focus mode can now be selected via a pop-up menu instead cycle-clicking through the available options. It is possible to select the same entry again (e.g. re-selecting manual focus position will allow to set the focus point anew).
PrintTao: It is now possible to rotate images and text in PrinTao in steps of 1 degree for printing (also applies for template frames).
BUGFIX:
JobManager: When adding frames from the preview, the thumbnails may become black when the preview is rotated - fixed.
