The DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 II was released in 2005 just two after its predecessor. It also features the superior optical resolution of 5400 dpi and convinces with very good image quality. The biggest drawback of the former model was the great amount of time a scan consumes. This disadvantage is gone, the Scan Elite 5400 is one of the fastet among all film scanners.
Filmholders for scanning framed slides and fimstrips are included in delivery as well as a large software package. The Scan Elite 5400 II works best with the lastest SilverFast version.
The DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 II from Minolta is an older scanner model for which the manufacturer no longer updates the device drivers. However, the DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 II scanner is still supported by our scanner software SilverFast 6.6, which has proven itself in use over many years.

With the optionally available Archive Suite (a combination of SilverFast Ai Studio and SilverFast HDR Studio) it is also possible to make RAW scans, in order to do the processing later in the HDR software. With the option to scan films in the HDRi format you have the possibility, to use the information of the infrared channel in an optimal way in the postprocessing. For the professional use it is recommended by all means to use the Archive Suite.
