HP
HP is producing scanners since the middle of the 1980s, the developement of multi purpose devices started early.

There are numerous reasonably priced HP flatbed scanners available, of which some do feature an integrated transparency unit. However, the main focus lies not on film scanning, but on paper and document scanning.

The automatic document feeder (ADF unit) isn't supported by SilverFast.
Although the driver installer package itself cannot be run under Leopard, the drivers can be made work on OSX 10.5 and 10.6.
Please make sure to install the v.9.3.5 drivers from HP, and remove the items that are added to the login options.
